Mr. Fleming has served as principal of Dr. Ronald E. McNair Junior High for the past two years. He previously was the assistant principal at Main Street Elementary School. Before becoming a school administrator, Fleming was a math teacher at Lake City High School and was the head varsity football coach. He also was a math teacher in Florence One Schools, where he was named South Florence High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2011-2012. He also taught math in Anderson School District Five.
Mr. Fleming is a 2002 graduate of East Clarendon High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in teaching mathematics from Clemson University in 2006 and a Master of Sports Science degree in Sports Management in 2009 from the United Sports Academy. Mr. Fleming then earned an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in Principalship in 2017 from Arkansas State University.
Mr. Fleming and his wife, Anita Chandler Fleming, are the parents of four children. He is a Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church member in Lake City.
“My educational philosophy is that all students can rise to the occasion when given learning opportunities,” Fleming said.
